Drove hours and bought $300 worth of blueberry plants at a premium because "if it grows in Ellmore, it'll grow anywhere". I was told on the way out that they get the plants from another company. I drove and paid the premium for something I could have gotten at any shop. To make matters worse, failure rate is about 40% and it's just not worth it for me to drive back to get them to honor the replacement warranty they provide. Thoroughly disappointed, looks like a quaint place, but I felt like their advertisement was misleading and it lead me to make a bad decision. Edit: we contacted them about the failed plants and they offered to ship replacements. They are trying to do right by us and that's a big relief, thank you!

Ordered a wetlands package in April. Signed up for text notifications. I received one message confirming my order. However, a shipping notification or delivery notification was never sent. I checked my order page several times. There was no status update. My shade loving plants were shipped May 13th. They sat on my porch (of my camp) in the sun without attention for over a week! When I found them I’m not sure if I was in time or not. They were planted right away. Fingers crossed they come back to life. I will be calling and attempting to give them my direct feedback. I have always heard great things about this nursery. It’s unfortunate my first experience went like this.

Communication with this nursery is pretty bad. I was promised an order would be ready one week. That week went by. I emailed, called. Nothing. Then our truck had issues and I emailed again about the possibility of them delivering the order and *I had to give an estimate on the drive for them (google does this, of course) and they never responded to my earlier, more pressing emails. So I rented a truck and just drive there and was met by their more communicative, attentive, younger workers who were great. Even though my order wasn’t ready or in their ‘queue,’ they loaded me up. It did take a while for my order to get all together of course. In short, they do great work with propagating Vermont-hardy plants, but are almost non-responsive by email and phone, which is pretty important these days with everything being closed to ‘foot traffic.’ They should really think about putting their younger staff on communications.

Update: I do have to say the Bushes I bought 4 or 5 years ago are doing great even after being chewed to single twigs by cotton tails and being in my alkaline soil all this time I see a beautiful crop on the way. "Packages" were misleading.  I got the Blueberry package; you can get the same thing, and actually choose your own cultivars and buy the proven blueberry mix for less money (and that includes paying for shipping).  With the Blueberry Package, they chose the six plants. I only received 2 cultivars (3 of each) and what they chose for me ripen at the same time.  Also, one bag of the proven mix wont start 6 plants, but to purchase another tacks on another $25 for shipping so it's like a $50 bag. Im just put off by the fact that the online store brings you to the packages which are not a good deal even by their own offerings.  They were great at responding by e-mail until I  brought this up.  No response so this is mine. I was willing to pay more to support local but I'll shop around in the future.

This place feels like Eden to me. Small fruit that is hardy to this region, superior knowledgeable help, and hearty plants. I am so in love with Elmore Roots. Going there once a year is like a soulful getaway for me. Our entire small backyard orchard is populated with I think 28 (at last count) different fruits from Elmore. I can't wait to go back. Here are two shots of my plum trees in glorious blossom this morning, in year 5 after planting. We've had fruit for three years now.
