If your heart beats to Woodland Garden, this is magical retreat, where shy woodland friends--flora and fauna--quietly thrive. The nature guides are one with bark-and-leaf, and give intelligent, heartfelt counsel in extending "National Park" to your sanctuary. Excellent: selection, pricing, service, mood. Make new plant friends, many quite obscure, and if you are searching for something yet more obscure, staff will direct you. Grateful especially to JULES for green insight, generously and quietly shared. Succinctly: NATURE LOVERS, COME. Inspiring, peaceful, always educational. Bring your camera and your journal; see if you can bring an easel and your paints. And . . . watch for flower fairies and gnomes, real ones. It is that kind of place.

The volunteers and paid employees were extremely helpful with suggestions, ideas, and helping us with a coroner garden to give us the right conditions for the irrigation that we had and the light that we had. Helped explained when things bloomed how big they get, whether or not they spread etc. Lots of items to choose from and I love all the Florida friendly native options. So much better than the big box stores.
We wanted to replace our landscaping with Florida-Friendly plants and as many native Florida plants as possible. I visited Green Isle Gardens in Groveland and was impressed by its size, number of species, and their knowledgeable staff. Our request was a design to resemble as much as possible, the original mesic pine flatwoods plant association that was here before citrus and suburbia. Jeremiah, their designer, presented a plan that we immediately liked. Native blueberry, a flatwoods plum, wild coffee, beautyberry, coontie, fakahatchee grass, Dade County pines, and lots of flatwoods herbaceous plants. He did not crowd the plants to create an “instant landscape” as many others do. His crew was first rate. Jeremiah communicated with us frequently and the end result is outstanding. I recommend them highly. For a Florida-Friendly Landscape they are the real deal.
