Gregor Farm & Greenhouse

Stopped in today at about 8:45 am. Usually nurseries open early in the summer. I walked in and there was a sign welcoming customers. The checkout stand wasn’t open but I assumed that was because they hadn’t had any customers wanting to check out yet. So I walked around a bit until I heard a woman say “we do open at 9 am”. I said, “I’m sorry, I assumed you opened at 8”. To which her response was “the sign isn’t illuminated and all the sites say 9. I’m going to keep watering and I’ll try not to spray you”. I immediately headed out the door. On my way out, I looked for the sign she mentioned and found a neon sign in direct sunlight, making it impossible to see if it was on or not. And since I had been there before, I didn’t need to look at their website or get directions from google. If her goal was to get me to leave and never come back, congratulations, mission accomplished. Gardening should be fun and one shouldn’t be threatened to get hosed down for showing up 15 minutes before they open.

We came in today, asking about trees for our backyard. Space. We received a very thorough explanation of how to plant the trees that would make the most sense for us. We felt so educated. Today was just reinforcement of why Gregor is the only place we go for our garden And landscape needs. Ryan was incredibly knowledgeable on the best type of tree and how to plant it. We will definitely be back again many times!

Was there a week ago for some premium annuals and found the healthiest geraniums in the best color selection, and all of this at prices lower than nearby pop-up centers, big box, or year round plant stores. It was very busy but the staff were helpful with my questions and discussed the goat soil amendment in detail, which doesn't happen at most other places when they're busy. The older gentleman also answered my question when they'd have the Thai basil, and some other plants. I got a wagonload of gourmet quality plants for only $150 and will be back for more! The quality can't be beat.

It’s so strange to me that people are leaving one star reviews when they obviously came in before the greenhouse was open? Just know that if you don’t have a weird sense of entitlement, this place is wonderful! I love getting to go here whenever I’m in the Medina area. Beautiful variety of blooms and garden accessories. Lovely, hardworking people who should not be punished for having standard store hours. Also, the greenhouse cats are an absolute bonus!

I would ignore any negative comments about customer service…it was great! Moreover, stunning annuals at unbeatable prices. Bittersweet in a way because I just discovered this place and already bought most of my annuals of lesser quality and way more money. My friend scored huge though and her deck looks stunning with the addition of the baskets from here. Fun little side notes to this place as well!
