Kansas Plant Farm is a private backyard family-owned nursery and display garden nestled on an acre of land in central west Lawrence, Kansas. Established in 2005, the nursery specializes in growing over 500 varieties of locally-sourced, pesticide-free native plants, hardy tropicals, edibles, and other unusual species. Surrounding the residence are lush display gardens showcasing the diverse plant selection, which is primarily available for online purchase and curbside pickup. What a delightful Saturday morning! My husband and I went here to look at some Cactus' and when we showed up we were greeted by Ryan and his friendly dog and a plethora of beautiful plants. We talked to him about cactus' a bit before just walking around and exploring the beautiful grounds. It was almost magical as the rain was just misting down and all of the plants glowed. We ended up back at the cactus section and buying some beautiful, healthy, happy plants. Ryan helped us pack them up, gave us all the information we needed, and invited us to reach out to him for more info as we need it. They are all now replanted and living with our existing aloes in our living room! We will be coming back here when we do some landscaping next year!

Found this gem of a nursery when visiting my sister in Lawrence from Cleveland OH a few years ago. Excellent variety and quality of perennials, grasses, and tropicals. My oldest sister enjoys discussing growing and protecting palms in the colder climate of Louisville KY with Ryan. I recently was looking for and found a hard to find Fargesia rufa (clumping bamboo) at the Kansas Plant Farm. Ryan got the beautiful plant to me quickly in early November with a narrow safe weather to ship. Earlier this Summer I was looking for another hard to find plant a Hardy Bergonia and Ryan came thru again.
