They had the lovliest selection of hummingbird feeders and is the only place around that carries octenol. Their greenhouses of flowers and plants are well stocked so if you have something specific in mind odds are they'll have it. There's nothing nicer than a friendly, family run business where every customer feels appreciated.

Lavender Hill Nursery in Jordan Falls, N.S. near Shelburne is one of the nicest garden centers that I have ever visited. Many other nurseries have lots of plants but few are shown and tended like these. Plants have been pinched and cut back so that they are full and not leggy and dead leaves have been removed so that each shows to its best potential. I never saw one pot that needed water. The owners Madelaine and Allison Blades, shown in pictures 5 and 6 respectively were such a delight to talk with and their knowledge was dispensed with ease and instilled confidence that you new they just loved what they do, and it sure shows! I learned so much and came away feeling confident of the plants that I purchased and I can't recommend this experience for everyone, even if you aren't buying plants go visit this delightful place and experience an environment that will refresh you. If you are an experienced seasoned gardener or a newbie who is intimidated because you don't know where to start, this place is for you. Enjoy.
