UPDATE:(Feb. 2025) First, I can't afford shopping here anymore. Paying $40 for a small half-gallon plant is much. Also, more than once did different young employees displayed bursts of unprovoked anger, twitchy body movements, and incoherent mumbling. It's really unsettling and is why I dropped my rating from 5 down to 3. Thankfully the older staff members are normal by smiling and helping customers. You can tell customer service takes their job very seriously. This is a gorgeous nursery with local and exotic plants but the prices are going way out of my budget and I don't feel comfortable around some of their staff members. I hope things change for the better. ----------------------------------------------------------------- This place is marvelous. It has so many varieties of plants. Tropical, desert, indoor, outdoor, etc. Its like discovering a rabbit hole for plant enthusiasts of all levels of knowledge. Thankfully I was offered help today by their friendly employee in the glazed pots department. I'm really glad the young man instructed me to place the pots upside down on my cart so they dont fall off. He said if I fill up one cart to make sure to leave it at the cashier, (give name to the cashier) and they will hold it until I'm ready to pay. Just also make sure to grab a sign, (in front of the gift shop) that says "this cart is being used" and hang it on the cart. He also let me know there are also several types of soil mixes available. Depending on what type of plant I buy, the correct soil type is critical to keeping my plants alive. This location gets super busy on weekends so be prepared to walk a ways from the entrance in order to get a parking space. I was very grateful for immediately being offered assistance with taking my purchases to my car too. I bought a lot and it was heavy. Give this place a chance as they have super friendly, well educated, and courteous staff. I totally look forward to my next visit.
This is my first visit since they expanded, remodeled, and upgraded a few years back. I love all the antique metal machinery and tools that can be found nestled amount the vast selection of cacti and other plants. The displays are artistic and inspiring!
I went there yesterday with a friend of mine. We both love this place. So beautiful, clean, friendly, and has just about everything. Veronica, in the gift shop, was amazing. She helped my friend find a beautiful elephant planter, attractively boxed it, & put it in a gift bag, all ready for gifting. Such wonderful service!
Absolutely huge!! You can find pretty much everything here. We came for houseplants and they had such a great variety of indoor plants! Took home a few too many 😂 Beautiful atmosphere. Signs everywhere, and plants are clearly price marked. Staff was friendly. Great variety of plants.
Believe it or not it took me 2011- 2024. I never knew how to plant or mulch..Moving from Marco Island Florida to Tucson AZ, was a huge change. I got the beautiful Mountains in front of me and I didn’t care if it was 🥵 this is on the hill of Mount lemon. It was truly beautiful and the heat 😬was not fun.. sometimes if we are lucky 🍀 there comes the snow.. 😁during my stay in Tucson I met some really amazing people. Noah was my inspiration to the planting more cacti 🌵( Peruvian Apple ) and taught me a lot about Different Palm trees, I owe that to him. The people at Mesquite Valley have been there for me,from the Horticulturist to the watering or care taker to the garden . They all have their own unique qualities to tend to the garden. I just want to say thank you to the owners son for helping me too. He is such a good guy. Thank you for your help. The statues you see are all from this place and many more.. Kaifer lime trees 🌲 are my favorite ❤️I planted 3 trees and it has thrived on the hills. If you haven’t been there yet please go and check it out. You will never regret or want to leave. So enjoy the wonderful pictures I am sharing for the first time.
