Love love love this magical native plant nursery. They are my one stop shop for all native plant needs and Rosalind's been so helpful getting all the orders ready for pick-up. So grateful and can't wait for next season!
Such an amazing place! Not just a nursery - the owner really fosters community by hosting native plant events. The times that I’ve gone, the owner discouraged me from buying too much and recommended better solutions. She really takes painstaking care to ensure that her inventory is the best possible for our ecosystem and is extremely knowledgeable. Truly a gem of a place and now one of the very few places I will buy plants.
The staff, Rosalind and Kirsi here was so knowledgeable about what native NJ plants would be right for each section of my property (with different light and soil conditions). It is not easy to find a nursery that cares so much about native plants and their customers! Also really great communication before making the 1.5 hour drive down. Will definitely be back!
I began visiting Backyard at Nectar's a couple years ago when I decided to switch my yard and garden over to native perennials, in the hopes of making it ecologically thrifty & pollinator friendly. Having this local nursery as a resource on my journey to figure out what I needed to do has been invaluable! Not only do they sell a wide array of northeast native plants, flowers, trees & shrubs, but Rosalind is a wealth of expertise and information. She’s super friendly and passionate about the work she does. This year I ordered 3 custom made compost pots for Mother's Day. Rosalind took extra time and care to build each arrangement per my requested specifications & suggestions, while also employing her knowledge when making the selections. They all came out amazing & were a huge hit with my mom and mother-in-law. My Backyard at Nectars is truly a hidden gem. Highly recommend checking them out!
