I’ve done a lot of trial and error planting over the years in an attempt to be pollinator friendly. At Native I found a beautiful selection of plants and knowledgeable staff that took the guess work out of it. Native will be my go to garden center from now on! Check it out
Hi, I live around the corner of Native Nursery at the Redding location. Last fall the nursery sold and planted 5 Ink Berry amd 2 Ruby Spice. Unfortunately, the plants seem struggling. Leafs for the ink berry are almost gone and Ruby Spice withered within couple weeks after the planting. I tried contacting the gentleman at the Nursury who planted them for me but no responses. Can you let me know what happens? UPDATE: the new manager, Chris Teter, is professional and responsive to inquiries. It looks he genuinely loves what he does and takes any customer request seriously.
The mint plants I got from here are thriving! So happy I was able to grow my herb garden with native plants 🌿. Employees are knowledgeable/able to make helpful suggestions, and are friendly too. Will definitely be back again!
Not a good experience from start to finish. The employee that helped me, Chris, seemed to be always confused and did not deliver the agreed and already paid for trees. Instead, delivering only 1 with no explanation after I purchased 4. On delivery day they were almost 2 hours late. Chris showed up with endless apologies, stating that he did not read my email regarding how many trees were to be planted. The worst part might have been that I contacted them by calling them and also emailed the owner twice and he never responded to my emails. The second email was inquiring about how to get my money back. I received ZERO response. I then emailed Chris with the amount that I expected to be refunded and he so kindly corrected my math, and tacked on an extra $7. REALLY? Businesses like this need to realize that people have choices where they want to spend. This is the slow season and it was a total nightmare. I cant imagine what its like in the busy season.
I feel lucky I stumbled upon this gem. Native plant nurseries are hard to come by, and while this one is small, it has a wonderful selection of healthy native plants and an enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. I'll definitely be making the drive out again.
