Fantastic native selection. Great plant quality and knowledge of the industry. Kind and helpful folks. I call them a lot to make sure what I need is there before I go, since they are a ways off. They are busy working hard, but accommodate me when they are by the phone. Thank you for doing what you do! My favorite nursery.

What an amazing place! Well worth the trip from the Twin Cities, this lovely Nursery had so many native plant options for our pollinator garden! We even got to take advantage of a sale they were having! Not only did they have all the plants we could dream of at a great price, but the staff was super friendly and helpful in finding what we needed. Wanted to share our final result with all the beautiful plants in the ground too! Thanks Out Back Nursery for an awesome experience. We will be back for any further native plant needs, and will definitely recommend to anyone looking for beautiful plants and a great atmosphere! P.S. They had a huge selection of trees and bushes as well, which we didn’t need for our project, but would recommend if you do!

We drove to Out Back Nursery from Red Wing, as this is the closest all-native plant nursery location for us. I had spent hours ahead of time scouting out their website to create a shopping list of plants that I wanted, and I'm glad that I did, as I otherwise would have been overwhelmed by the sheer variety that they offered. I wanted to make sure that I was buying plants that were deer and rabbit resistant. I found that they had in stock about 95% of the plants that I wanted, which pleased me greatly. We were asked several times if we needed help, but no one was pushy about it. When it was time to check out, when the gentleman found out I was there because I had a Lawns 2 Legumes grant, he printed out a second receipt that included my personal information as well, making proof of purchase all the more blatant when it comes time for me to submit my grant packet. I've now had the plants in the ground for a few weeks, and everything is doing well--no doubt, the sheer amount of rain that we've had as helped! I'm excited for some of the plants to start blooming soon. I'd go to Out Back again if I was making another large purchase of native plants.

Once you go out back you won’t be going anywhere else for your plants. I learned about Out Back through the Lawns to Legumes grant - knowing they don’t use pesticides and most if not everything is native - made things so easy. Including how they print the receipts. But choosing what you want won’t be easy. So much variety. Everyone is kind and helpful. Do your research before you go - at least have a list of what you want. The signs help. The mulch is a bargain.

Very helpful staff. They guided us to plants suitable for a shady boulevard garden. The selection was surprisingly good for late in the season for woodland plants, and each plant is large and a good price for native perennials. A true hidden gem of native plant gardening!
