Such a great nursery! Every time we visit, the owner makes us feel so welcome. My wife, daughter, and I have already bought two lemon trees here, hoping they’ll make it through the winter. The owner was very helpful, giving us a warm introduction and sharing some useful tips for beginners like us. Truly appreciate it!

I love this place. Great selection of perennials and annuals. I’ve easily spent a few hundred dollars just this summer and I keep going back . Unfortunately I came in on a Sunday and the only one employee was chatting up a storm with another customer. I made her aware that I was waiting to pay for my Asters. She acknowledged that I was waiting and said she would just take the customer to find a plant. Waited at the checkout for another 20 mins and then left. I think they could use extra staff or be more considerate of other customer. At least this gives me an opportunity to explore other nurseries.

They sold me the tree in winter . In summer, which is totally different with the beautiful picture . When I ask them, the lady say the price discount is because the picture mistake. But you no need to put the any wrong picture to Misleading guests. I spent two years to plant and now prepare to cut it now.

I have had a very disappointing experience with Phoenix Perennials regarding pawpaw trees and customer communication. Both pawpaws I purchased arrived in very poor condition. The Mango was effectively dead on arrival, with only the rootstock showing life, and the Potomac barely survived. After sharing photos in pawpaw grower groups, Neil Peterson, the original breeder of several pawpaw cultivars including Mango and Potomac, reviewed the plants and stated they were too young and not in retail selling condition. He explicitly advised me not to purchase pawpaws from this nursery again. While Phoenix Perennials eventually acknowledged quality issues and applied a store credit, communication around replacements and timing was inconsistent and frustrating. I was explicitly instructed to check back in the fall regarding replacement availability. I did exactly that. When I followed up in the fall as directed, I was told that Mango was already sold out and that I should have checked earlier, in late summer. This directly contradicted the written guidance I had received, which clearly advised me to follow up in the fall. I was then told explicitly that Mango would not be available again until 2027 and was asked whether I wanted to wait that long or use my credit on another cultivar. Despite being clear that Mango was my primary preference and that I did not have a true substitute for it, I reluctantly used my credit on an alternative based on that guidance. Only a few months later, Mango appeared again as available and shipping. Had accurate information been provided at the time, I would have simply waited and retained my credit. Instead, I made a decision based on guidance that proved to be incorrect, leaving me without the cultivar I wanted and with a replacement I was only lukewarm about. Shipping was also problematic. During a postal disruption, the plants were handled poorly and arrived with broken limbs. While Phoenix suggested shipping was not the cause, the physical damage was clearly consistent with handling issues. I previously purchased a pawpaw from Phoenix Perennials several years ago that performed well, which makes this decline in plant quality, communication, and accuracy particularly disappointing. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Phoenix Perennials, even now when I flagged how they mishandled the Mango issue with me, my inquiry was ignored. Honestly, people it's not worth it. Ordering a plants should not be this frustrating or costly. Why bother.

My favourite place to shop! I stopped here during my trip from Toronto and the staff here, especially Maya, are amazing and super helpful. I’m pleasantly surprised at the variety of citruses, loquat, blueberries, and others offered here. This is definitely my go to nursery and I will drop by every time I’m in Vancouver. Thank you so much!
