This is a special kind of place. Small time owners with big passion for beautiful, native plants. Very knowledgeable, friendly people. Follow them on social media for good info. Note the days they are open, just Fri thru Sunday.
Ed's prices are lower than some other plant nurseries we've been to, and the plants are exceptionally large, healthy and strong. The display racks have hanging laminated 8X11 info pages for each species with color photos, so you don't have read miniscule tags stuck in the pots. Ed's wife is a walking, talking native plant encyclopedia. We've bought and planted 4 species of milkweed from him to support Monarch butterflies. Check the opening hours before you go.
Great place. On the smaller side, but have a really great variety of healthy plants at reasonable prices. All perennial plants have a helpful printout of requirements, size, their status as a native plant, and occasionally cool facts about the plants. Both folks who run the place are great, and the gentleman (who im assuming is Ed) does not live up to the “prickly” name and is wicked nice, knowledgeable and helpful as is the woman who works there as well (whose name i did not catch.) Also incredibly responsive via social media/email. Parking lot is on the smaller side, but there is a small field attached which can accommodate extra parking. One of the few, if not the only place to purchase native plants in the area.
My pearly everlastings are bringing in the American lady butterflies! I have to go purchase a few more plants. This is my first time using native plants.
Great native plants and wonderful advice from friendly, knowledgeable people
