I sit here everyday on my lunch. Quiet place with lots of birds and great place to see nature
Very relaxing, a very well kept place with a great mission to keep wildlife alive by providing safe habitat. An amazing place to sit and be by yourself with your thoughts and nature.
This is the National Headquarters of the organization The Wild Ones. Native Plants, Natural Landscaping. There are chapters in 18 states, now, having expanded from a group of 9 women who had a class at the Schiltz Audobon Center in Milwaukee, who said, after a nature study, 'Why can't we do this in our yards?'. Since that day, strong leadership and eager to experiment members have carried the ball. We create insect and critter habitats, maybe only one postage stamp at a time, but it is done as a network. We plant native species, we rid our areas of invasive species, we are in tune with nature in a way that we wish everyone were. A well appointed house, various demo gardens, and a strong welcome await those who visit the WILD center.
my family & i L💚VE wild ones as a company/organization in general ... for all they do, teach, care about & stand for! 🌿 they are a fantastic resource & great people! we participated in the native plant sale last year (2019) & we went to this location to pick up all of the plants & shrubs (lots!) that we'd ordered ahead of time! 📬 *i had been looking forward to going there & seeing the location in person for quite awhile ... & was NOT disappointed! 😍 it is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL place! it was very easy to find (much easier than i had expected) & the people were very friendly & VERY helpful! 👩🌾 the plants were in GREAT shape (& much bigger than expected!) *incidentally, every single plant we got there is still alive & THRIVING today! ... the entire experience was great! 😉 i/we highly recommended wild ones without reservation! 🌿 the ONLY reason we didnt participate in the native plant sale this year was covid19 😷 ... but we DEF have every intention of participating again next year! 🤩
I would say this place was sure something in its prime. Some Trails and structures sure have been neglected. Ran into a large snapper, we both went about our business. Not sure on the open hours, said 10am but the times I went there there was no one around. My final time was at 6:00 a.m. . In my opinion that was the best.
