About

Birds Georgia, formerly known as the Atlanta Bird Club, is a member-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building bird-friendly communities through conservation, education, and community engagement. Since its founding in 1926, the organization has championed habitat restoration and bird protection across Georgia, serving as an independent partner of the National Audubon Society. Birds Georgia creates places where birds and people thrive by implementing comprehensive conservation programs including habitat stewardship, wildlife sanctuary management, and collision prevention initiatives. The organization engages the community through educational programs for youth and educators, field trips, birding competitions, and travel experiences while maintaining resources for habitat restoration, native plant selection, and threatened species protection. By combining scientific expertise with grassroots community involvement, Birds Georgia empowers residents to support Georgia's avian populations through habitat improvement and bird-friendly practices.
