About

Big Sur Land Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring love of land across generations while conserving the unique landscapes of Monterey County. Since 1978, the organization and its generous donors have protected over 45,000 acres throughout the region. BSLT's mission encompasses three core pillars: promoting healthy lands by conserving natural landscapes, habitats and waterways; supporting healthy people by providing outdoor access and experiences for all community members; and building healthy communities through conservation partnerships that enhance economic prosperity and social equity. As an accredited land trust, Big Sur Land Trust engages the public through volunteer events, outdoor experiences, and community partnerships that connect people to nature while stewarding the region's ecological treasures for future generations.
