About

The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) is dedicated to celebrating and preserving California's native plant heritage for future generations. Based in Sacramento, CNPS brings together science, education, conservation, and gardening to power the native plant movement across one of the world's biodiversity hotspots. The organization works to save California's native plants and natural places through comprehensive programs spanning biodiversity initiatives, community science, horticulture, and conservation policy. CNPS empowers individuals and communities to support native plant conservation through membership, volunteering, educational programs, and native plant gardening resources. With multiple chapters throughout California, CNPS provides accessible ways for people to get involved in protecting the ecological foundation that sustains California's diverse ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
