About

The Greater Wyoming Valley Audubon Society is an official chapter of the National Audubon Society dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation for the natural beauty and biodiversity of Luzerne and Wyoming Counties in Pennsylvania. Through publications, community outreach, and member activism, GWVAS works to preserve nature, protect significant natural areas, and promote sustainable use of the earth's natural resources. The organization supports environmental education for students of all ages, from elementary school through adulthood, and encourages community involvement in conservation efforts that benefit both local and global ecosystems. By joining GWVAS through National Audubon Society membership, residents contribute to regional and international conservation initiatives while gaining access to Audubon magazine and the organization's newsletter, Valley Views.
