About

Founded in 1956, Marin Audubon Society is dedicated to conserving and restoring natural ecosystems throughout Marin County, with a primary focus on birds, wildlife, and their habitats. For over 60 years, the organization has protected critical habitat by acquiring and stewarding properties, implementing large-scale tidal marsh restoration projects, and removing invasive species like sea lavender that threaten native ecosystems. Marin Audubon engages the community through field trips, speaker series, and volunteer workdays while advocating for conservation policies that protect endangered species such as the Northern Spotted Owl and preserve sensitive wetlands including the Petaluma River baylands.
