About

The North American Native Plant Society (NANPS) is a volunteer-operated organization dedicated to preserving native plant habitat in wild areas and restoring indigenous flora to developed areas across North America. Founded in 1985, NANPS has grown into a leading force in native plant conservation, managing two conservation properties in Ontario while providing educational resources, hosting webinars, and organizing community events that empower gardeners and conservationists. Through plant sales, seed exchanges, gardening workshops, and habitat restoration initiatives, NANPS connects people with native plants that support pollinators and local ecosystems. The organization welcomes community members to get involved through membership, volunteering, donations, and participation in excursions, plant rescues, and conservation efforts that make a measurable difference in restoring ecological health.
