About

The North Carolina Native Plant Society is a 501(c)(3) charitable membership organization dedicated to promoting the enjoyment and conservation of North Carolina's native plants and their habitats. Through education, protection, cultivation, and advocacy, the organization empowers communities across the state to make a meaningful difference in preserving the region's botanical heritage. With nine active chapters spanning from the mountains to the coast, NCNPS provides members with comprehensive resources including native plant identification tools, gardening guidance, habitat certification programs, and funding opportunities through grants and scholarships. The society recognizes native plants as the cornerstone of North Carolina's biological diversity and encourages residents to garden with native species to support local wildlife, pollinators, and insects. By combining expert knowledge with community engagement and hands-on conservation projects, the North Carolina Native Plant Society cultivates a new generation of native plant enthusiasts committed to protecting the state's unique ecological landscape.
