Master Gardener Program

About

The Texas Master Gardener Program, operating through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service since 1978, is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to advancing horticultural knowledge and sustainable gardening practices across Texas. With chapters throughout the state, the program trains and supports Master Gardeners who serve as trusted resources in their communities, providing expert guidance on native plants, Earth-Kind® landscaping, Texas Superstar Plants, and environmentally responsible gardening. Through educational conferences, advanced training programs, plant sales, and community outreach initiatives, the organization empowers Texans to create beautiful, sustainable landscapes while supporting local ecosystems. The program welcomes new volunteers and offers multiple pathways for participation, including the Junior Master Gardener program for youth engagement.
