About

Wild Ones Ann Arbor Area Chapter is a dedicated local chapter of the national nonprofit organization Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes, serving the Greater Ann Arbor Area and Huron River Valley since 1995. As Michigan's first Wild Ones chapter and the third established nationally, the organization has been a pioneering force in promoting native plant landscaping and biodiversity conservation for nearly three decades. The chapter educates and advocates for sustainable landscaping practices using plants native to Michigan's region, offering monthly meetings, outdoor field outings, and special events throughout the year. Wild Ones Ann Arbor Area Chapter collaborates with partner organizations to restore critical ecosystems like lakeplain prairies, protect endangered habitats, and create wildlife corridors throughout the community. Members and the public can participate in educational programs, volunteer stewardship opportunities, and community conservation initiatives while learning how to transform their own landscapes into refuges for birds, insects, butterflies, and native wildlife.
