About

Wild Ones Cedar Rapids-Iowa City Chapter is a dedicated organization promoting native plant landscaping through education, advocacy, and collaborative community action. Serving the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City areas across Linn and Johnson counties, this chapter empowers local residents to transform their gardens and public spaces by reintroducing native plants that support local ecosystems. Since becoming a full chapter in 2025, Wild Ones has rapidly expanded its impact through diverse programming including seed swaps, garden tours, invasive species removal projects, and educational events. The organization provides a welcoming community where like-minded individuals gather to learn about native landscaping practices, share knowledge about why native plants matter for habitat restoration and biodiversity, and collectively drive change in their communities. Through seasonal events, workshops, and field trips, Wild Ones makes native plant conservation accessible and engaging for everyone.
