About

Wild Ones Columbus Chapter is a chapter of Wild Ones, a national not-for-profit environmental education and advocacy organization dedicated to preserving biodiversity through native plant conservation. Serving central and north-central Ohio for over 25 years, Wild Ones Columbus promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices that restore and establish native plant communities. The chapter offers free monthly educational programs featuring presentations by local experts, guided seasonal hikes, garden tours, and seed collection events. Notable projects include the Whetstone Prairie, a 3.5-acre urban prairie established in 2004, and the Native Pollinator Garden Program launched in 2022, which funds the establishment of native plant gardens in public-facing locations across central Ohio. Through annual native plant sales, winter seed exchanges, and community engagement, Wild Ones Columbus empowers residents to transform their landscapes while supporting local wildlife and native ecosystems.
