South Bend, Indiana

Native Plant Society

About

Wild Ones South Bend Chapter, established in 2021, is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting native landscapes and the wildlife that depends on them throughout the greater Michiana region of Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. The chapter connects people with native plants to foster a healthier planet while advancing environmental conservation and ecological restoration. Through monthly educational meetings at Pinhook Park Community Center, twice-annual plant sales, community invasive species removal projects, and partnerships with local organizations, Wild Ones South Bend actively engages the community in native plant stewardship. The chapter provides comprehensive educational outreach including presentations, tabling events, native garden designs, and access to the quarterly Wild Ones Journal, helping residents transform their landscapes into thriving native habitats that support pollinators and other wildlife.
