This is where I go now to buy native plants. It's closer to me than Bosky Dell and definitely closer than Portland Nursery, but the main factor believe it or not is the parking. While not ample. they do have like six or 7 parking spots. It can be a little difficult getting out, but at least it's fairly easy to get in. The prices on their plants are great and while not all of them have price labels, they do have tags on them to say what type of plant they are.
Hands down best selection of TRUE native plants (i.e. not "nativars" but what you would actually find growing in the wild) in Portland that I've come across. Basically the place to go for any of the more difficult to find native plants that other local retailers don't sell. Staff was very knowledgeable, and helped me find the right plants for specific areas of the yard. Prices for are much more affordable compared to other nurseries that I have been to in Portland as well. They have a simple pricing scheme that you can find on their website that makes budgeting a breeze. Its a bit of a ways out of Portland but SO worth the drive every time. Can't recommend them enough!
I love this nursery. I learned about them though the Backyard Habitat program. They offer tons of plants on the Portland Plant List as well as other beautiful Oregon natives. Staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful. I think they grow almost all of their plants on site in their beautiful natural nursery so plants have transplanted extremely well into my backyard. (I honestly don't think I have a single failed plant from them which is unbelievable of any nursery.) Have purchased everything from trees to flowers to grass to shrubs. Prices are very reasonable. My kids like to to explore the nursery too.
This is by far our favorite nursery. The forest setting on Mt. Hood is rejuvenating, and we hugely appreciate the time they spent helping us choose and learn about native plants to fill in our small but mighty native naturescaped, certified backyard habitat, woodland inner SE Portland garden. Bought this Ceanothus velutinus (snowbrush) three years ago, and it is thriving like everything from Echo Valley Natives.
Looking for native plants for your garden? This is the perfect place! Everything is native, reasonably priced, and the people are very friendly and helpful. It’s tucked back off the road a bit, but the signs are clear. Definitely go here and plant native!
