I love Morning Star Perennials! So far I have been twice and will return without a doubt. Scott and Laurie are so warm and welcoming. They run the business from there home and the grounds are simply magical! Scott is very knowledgeable. He made sure to share important planting and care information with me in a detailed, yet easy to understand manner. Scott has a lifetime of fruit tree experience! I was mainly shopping for fruit trees but bought some other special plants that I hadn't seen anywhere! I received much more attention here than any nursery I have ever visited.

Oh my goodness such a lovely place tucked away in VT! I was blown away at the varieties of apples and Scott is so knowledgeable. He has a tree that has been grafted 17 times! That's alot of varieties on 1 tree! Amazing! Unique Perrenials will have me visiting again in the spring !

Took my mom to this unique nursery for her bday, and what a gift it was! For avid gardeners, this place is a dream, where you can find rare and unique specimens (in addition to traditional ones), all at very reasonable prices. Even more, Scott (the owner) is so kind, informative, and patient. As we walked through the grounds, he took the time to explain where different specimens came from, how he had cared for them, ideal planting conditions, and answer any other questions we had. In the end, I was thrilled to leave with a Pinus parviflora 'Fukai' Japanese White Pine, charmed by its unusual variegated needles and open, artistic shape. However, arguably the real value is that, now every time I look at it, I will always be reminded of the fun afternoon my mother and I shared together at Morning Star. Thanks again, Scott - keep planting and hope to be back in Spring!

My friend and I found this awesome haven and will definitely return. Scott is unbelievable with his knowledge and ability to explain almost anything related to plants, planting and grafting. His talent as a botanist, designer, and stone mason is amazing. The property is peaceful and filled with his and his wife's passions. Awesome place.

More than just a tree and perennial nursery, Scott and Laurie have created a kind of haven and temple for unique conifers and larches. They have an enormous selection of trees and perennials hardy to Vermont climate zones, including very special trees like dawn redwood, many larches, and unique ornamental varieties of Japanese maple. The perennial selection is outstanding, with plants in incredible health judging by the root balls we saw when transplanting into our garden. The stonework and conifer collection is an extra arboretum on top of the nursery itself. It’s a must visit and Scott and Laurie were beyond friendly and let us talk their ears off about trees for hours. We will definitely be back.
