UPDATE: About a year after the original tree went in, they came back and planted a new one. They still tried to argue with me that the tree could stay in the bag, but I insisted that we open it up. Surprise! Surprise! Another year late and the new tree is doing great. Like I said in my original review, they know their stuff and they give great recommendations for which tree to purchase, but don't trust the installers and insist that they take the root ball out of the burlap/cage and prep the hole properly. ORIGINAL REVIEW: They know their plants, but don't trust their installers. We had a white spruce planted in our front yard based on the recommendations of Pete, who came out and helped us pick a spot for it. He said it's a hearty tree that the deer won't bother. And it is a lovely tree and we're looking forward to watching it grow. However, the men who planted it put it in the hole without taking it out of the burlap or even cutting any of the strings. When I confronted them on this, they tried to tell me that it was good for the tree. I'm not a confrontational person by nature, so I let it go and resolved to research it later. All my research confirmed that they were lying, and you absolutely should remove a tree from the burlap and break up the root ball, which is how I was always taught to plant a tree. It's so disappointing to realize you're getting such low quality of service and dishonesty. We were thinking of using them to do a water garden in the portion of our yard that's usually flooded, but based on this experience I can't say I ever plan on hiring then again nor would I recommend them to anyone for installations. UPDATE: 8 months later and the tree from Native Landscapes is dead. Meanwhile our Christmas tree, which I planted after almost a month of being indoors in the middle of winter is thriving. I took off the burlap & broke up the root ball. 🤷‍♂️ Proof is in the planting I guess.

I stopped here for a few hours during my Appalachian Trail thru-hike and, even though the business is sandwiched between a busy road and a set of train tracks, it was relaxing and delightful to take my load off and sit in their gazebo. I was quite thankful for the water, shower, and that they held a package for me. They have a wide variety of beautiful native plants that you can purchase. If you want to promote/protect native ecology, purchase from these fine folks!

Just had a wonderful experience at Native Landscapes. Stacy was extremely kind and helpful and gave us great direction on what to plant on our property. Prices were very reasonable and plants are gorgeous. We will definitely be coming back here for all our landscaping needs.
