What a magical spot
Dawn helped me map and then pick flowers for a new garden bed. It came out great!
Dawn is so knowledgeable and with just one visit I learned so much! She has an impressive variety of native plants. Unlike anything I’ve seen in the area!
Dawn is a skilled gardener but she did not prepare us well as far as the budget for the project or deer protection was concerned and so our garden installation was not a success. Most of what was planted was eaten by deer immediately and has left our $6k garden installation very barren. We were not given sufficient guidance from the outset and despite my being clear about deer pressure and asking only for plantings that would be unattractive to them - about half of which were and are doing well - the rest have been decimated. Dawn told us after the install that hot pepper wax and lights should be installed as a deterrent - but this was all way after the fact - and now just says that she’s sorry our plants were eaten by deer but that she’s booked and unavailable to replace. It has left a very sour taste for a very expensive professional service that I had hoped would go well and in support of a small business - but I definitely won’t go this route again. ** Additionally - in the message above I tried to be fair about my assessment of the service and Dawn chose to attack me personally rather than accept any responsibility. She did replace a few of the plants that were eaten after the first half of the install, but again, did not prepare us in advance whatsoever to have a sturdy deterrent system in place *before* she installed anything in the first place - and so the season is behind us and now we are waiting til next spring for growth and recovery. All in all a really disappointing experience - this company shouldn’t be permitted to operate given the level of service provided but there is very little recourse for the customer in these cases. I hope more customers hold this company accountable moving forward.
What a special place and person. We went to the nursery with vague ideas just to check it out and pick up some perennials. I ended up learning so much! I can’t wait to return in the Spring.
