About

Audubon Vermont is a state program of the National Audubon Society dedicated to protecting birds and the places they need through science, education, advocacy, and on-the-ground conservation efforts. Operating from the Green Mountain Audubon Center in Huntington, the organization engages people of all ages in wildlife stewardship and environmental action across 255 acres of pristine habitat. With a focus on priority bird species and their ecosystems, Audubon Vermont offers comprehensive education programs ranging from Forest Playschool for preschoolers to Youth Conservation Leadership initiatives, alongside practical conservation projects including forest management, bird-friendly farming practices, and habitat restoration. The organization welcomes visitors year-round to its open trails and actively involves the community through volunteer opportunities, guided nature walks, and partnerships with landowners to promote sustainable forestry and agricultural practices that benefit Vermont's native wildlife.
