About

The Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art is a pioneering conservation organization dedicated to preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the Brandywine River Valley in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Founded in 1967, the organization protects over 70,000 acres through more than 500 conservation easements, safeguarding the river valley's lush plant life, wildlife habitats, and the artistic legacy it inspired. By combining land conservation with art and education, the Brandywine Conservancy offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience both natural ecosystems and the creative works they nourished. The organization welcomes community members to explore protected lands including meadows, marshes, mature woods, and creek systems while visiting historic artist studios and farms. Through membership, donations, and volunteer engagement, supporters help strengthen the Conservancy's mission to preserve this vital ecosystem for future generations.
