About

Deschutes Land Trust is a Central Oregon-based conservation organization dedicated to protecting and stewarding the lands and waters that sustain the region's communities and natural ecosystems. With over 18,700 acres protected and 13,400+ people connected to their mission, the Land Trust works to conserve native habitats, restore degraded ecosystems, and foster community engagement in land stewardship. Through habitat restoration projects, invasive species removal, and river restoration initiatives, the organization actively manages its network of preserves to support biodiversity and ecological health. Deschutes Land Trust invites Central Oregonians to get involved through volunteer opportunities, educational nature events, native plant restoration projects like milkweed planting for monarch butterflies, and guided hikes and walks across their protected lands. The organization combines scientific conservation practices with community participation to ensure local landscapes flourish for generations to come.
