The New York Flora Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to field botany and advancing the understanding of wild plants native to New York State. Based in Albany, NYFA helps people enjoy, learn about, and promote the conservation of New York's native flora through community engagement and scientific exploration. The organization maintains the comprehensive New York Flora Atlas, supports endangered and threatened plant species research, and offers 40+ annual field trips and workshops across the state. By combining fieldwork, education, and conservation advocacy, NYFA empowers botanists, ecologists, naturalists, and plant enthusiasts to contribute to the preservation of New York's botanical heritage.
