Master Gardener Program

About

The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Program is a volunteer-driven initiative that provides intensive horticulture training to Ohio residents who are passionate about sharing gardening knowledge with their communities. Operating across more than 62 Ohio counties with over 3,000 active volunteers, the program delivers research-based educational services including plant clinics, community garden development, and horticultural outreach to diverse populations. Master Gardener Volunteers contribute significantly to their local communities by answering public gardening questions, conducting educational activities, and beautifying neighborhoods through demonstration gardens and beautification projects. The program, which has been serving Ohio since the late 1970s, welcomes volunteers of all skill levels who are motivated to learn and educate others about gardening practices.
