About
The South Carolina Native Plant Society (SCNPS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, restoring, and educating communities about native plants across South Carolina. With chapters spanning from the Grand Strand to the Upstate, SCNPS brings together nature lovers, gardeners, botanists, educators, and environmental advocates to combat habitat loss and invasive species while promoting the ecological importance of native plants. The organization actively works to preserve threatened native plant communities, restore degraded ecosystems, and help residents and land managers integrate native plants into their landscapes and public spaces. Through field trips, lectures, symposiums, native plant sales, and a comprehensive Certificate in Native Plant Studies program, SCNPS empowers individuals and communities to make informed decisions about native plant conservation. Whether through advocacy for native plantings in public spaces, participation in invasive species removal projects, or personal habitat restoration, members contribute to sustaining South Carolina's diverse ecosystems and the wildlife that depends on them.
