Master Gardener Program

About

The Tennessee Extension Master Gardener Program is a volunteer-driven educational initiative dedicated to improving the lives of Tennesseans through research-based horticulture education. Operating under the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, the program trains and engages passionate volunteers to provide the public with expert guidance on lawn, garden, and landscape topics. With over 205,000 hours of service annually representing nearly $6.3 million in value to the state, Master Gardeners work collaboratively across all Tennessee counties to deliver accessible, science-backed horticultural information to residents. The program offers comprehensive training, resources on native plants and sustainable gardening practices, and opportunities for volunteers to connect with a nationwide network of dedicated gardening professionals dedicated to environmental stewardship.
