About

Wild Ones Columbus Chapter is a chapter of Wild Ones, a national not-for-profit environmental education and advocacy organization dedicated to preserving biodiversity through native plant landscaping practices. Established over 25 years ago, the chapter serves central and north-central Ohio with free monthly educational programs featuring expert presentations, guided seasonal hikes, native plant nursery tours, and seed collection events. The organization has made significant impacts on local conservation, including the creation of Whetstone Prairie, a 3.5-acre urban prairie established in 2004, and the initiation of a Native Pollinator Garden Program in 2022 that funds new native plant gardens in public-facing locations across the region. Wild Ones Columbus welcomes community members of all experience levels to join their Saturday programs, purchase native plants at their annual May sale, participate in winter seed exchanges, and connect with fellow native plant enthusiasts through their active social media presence and monthly Nature Scoop newsletter.
