About

Audubon Florida is a leading conservation organization dedicated to protecting birds and their habitats throughout the Sunshine State and the wider hemisphere. Since 1900, Audubon Florida has worked to safeguard more than 525 bird species across Florida's diverse ecosystems, from coastal mangroves to cypress forests and wetlands. With 139,000 members and supporters, 44 local independent chapters, and 100 dedicated staff members, the organization implements comprehensive conservation strategies including coastal stewardship at over 300 sites, Everglades restoration, and habitat protection initiatives. Through the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey and Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Audubon Florida provides educational experiences and hands-on conservation work. Community members can get involved through volunteer opportunities, citizen science programs like the Christmas Bird Count and Great Backyard Bird Count, and by supporting habitat restoration projects that benefit both wildlife and resilient communities.
