About

The Florida Native Plant Society is a statewide conservation organization dedicated to championing Florida's native plants and their habitats. With a mission to protect threatened plant species and promote the ecological benefits of native flora, FNPS works to ensure the continued survival of Florida's botanical heritage in the face of mounting environmental threats. The organization engages communities through citizen science initiatives, including Bioblitz events, while providing comprehensive educational resources such as the FNPS Plant Database, landscape guidance, and gardening resources that help residents and professionals select appropriate native species for their local conditions. By promoting native plant cultivation for sustainable, resilient landscapes that require less water and support essential wildlife habitats, FNPS empowers Floridians to restore ecological balance, preserve biodiversity, and help their state thrive through conservation action and community involvement.
