Master Gardener Program

About

The Oregon State University Extension Master Gardener Program is a statewide volunteer initiative dedicated to educating Oregonians about the art and science of growing and caring for plants sustainably. Operating across 27 counties, the program trains thousands of Master Gardener volunteers who serve as reliable, science-based gardening educators and community researchers. These volunteer experts provide customized gardening advice rooted in sustainable practices, helping residents throughout Oregon develop skills in plant care, pest management, and organic gardening techniques. Master Gardener volunteers are accessible community members who answer gardening questions via phone, email, and in-person at local markets and demonstration gardens, making horticultural knowledge and resources available to all Oregonians seeking to improve their gardening practices and grow their own plants.
