About

Tampa Audubon Society, established in the 1940s and incorporated in 1972, serves the Greater Hillsborough County region including Tampa, Lutz, Plant City, Brandon, Riverview, and Seffner. The organization is dedicated to bird conservation and habitat protection through multiple focused initiatives, including burrowing owl preservation, bluebird monitoring, and hooked bird rescue and prevention. Tampa Audubon combines scientific research, community education, and hands-on conservation efforts to protect Florida's avian species from threats including climate change, habitat loss, and human-wildlife conflicts. Members and volunteers participate in field trips, citizen science projects, colony watches, and habitat enhancement activities throughout the local area.
