Master Gardener Program

About

The University of Nevada Extension Master Gardener Program is a volunteer educator initiative dedicated to teaching research-based gardening practices suited to Nevada's unique climate and growing conditions. Through a comprehensive training program, Master Gardeners develop expertise in plant science and horticultural knowledge, which they share with their communities via educational workshops, public presentations, and direct assistance at local Extension offices. With 336 trained volunteers contributing over 31,000 hours annually and donating thousands of pounds of produce back to Nevada communities, the program demonstrates significant community impact. The organization operates across multiple Nevada counties and maintains demonstration gardens open to the public, providing accessible resources for residents interested in improving their gardening practices and supporting local food production.
