Native Plant Society

About

The Maryland Native Plant Society promotes awareness, appreciation, and conservation of Maryland's native plants and their habitats through education, research, advocacy, and service activities. Based in Baltimore, the organization has supported over 50 hypothesis-driven research projects since 2013 while engaging the community through field trips, workshops, and native plant sales across the state. Members and volunteers participate in plant identification walks, habitat surveys, and biodiversity initiatives, including annual themed programs highlighting specific plant families. The society serves botanists, landscapers, educators, and citizen scientists by providing identification resources, invasive species information, and native plant gardening guidance to help protect Maryland's unique botanical heritage.
