About

Wild Ones Nation's Capital Region Chapter is Maryland's first chapter of the national Wild Ones organization, dedicated to promoting environmentally sound landscaping practices through native plants and natural landscapes. Serving Montgomery County, Washington D.C., and Northern Prince George's County, the chapter educates community members about the critical importance of native plants for environmental health and biodiversity preservation. By encouraging native plant establishment across diverse landscapes—from residential gardens and businesses to farms, schools, and roadsides—Wild Ones Nation's Capital Region actively works to restore natural ecosystems and create pollinator corridors. Members and visitors benefit from native habitat garden tours, seasonal plant and seed exchanges, expert educational programs, and networking opportunities with conservation-minded gardeners and landscaping professionals.
